DiSC

Understand how each person communicates, decides and works in a team.

What it is

A behavioural assessment based on the DiSC model, which describes four behaviour styles: Dominant, Influencing, Steady and Conscientious.

DiSC looks at what you can see and hear every day: whether a person is more direct or more indirect, more open or more reserved. That makes it simple to understand, easy to remember and easy to use the very next day.

There are no better or worse styles. Each has its own strengths and areas to grow. The aim is not to label anyone, but to understand how each person works best.

Used alongside coaching, it helps put the right people in the right roles and reduce team conflict.

The Golden Rule says “treat others the way you want to be treated”. DiSC teaches the Platinum Rule: treat others the way THEY want to be treated.

Benefits

What you gain from DiSC

For you

  • Know yourself betterSee your natural strengths, what drives you, the setting where you perform best and how you react under pressure.
  • Communicate with more impactLearn to spot the style of the person in front of you and adjust your pace and approach: with clients, partners, staff and at home.
  • Sell and negotiate betterEach style buys differently. Some want the bottom line, others want trust, others want detail. Knowing this changes the conversation.
  • Handle stress and tensionFind out what irritates you, what makes you feel insecure and what to do in relationships that are not going well.

For your team

  • The right person in the right roleHelps hire, promote and assign work according to each person’s profile, not just their CV.
  • Less conflictMakes differences in pace (urgency or patience) and priority (people or tasks) visible, which cause most friction.
  • Lead each person the way they needThe leader learns how to motivate, give feedback and recognise each person, instead of treating everyone the same.
  • A shared languageThe whole team speaks the same language (“I’m more of a D”, “she’s an S”), which makes meetings, decisions and teamwork easier.
